Nasi Lemak Bungkus

Nasi Lemak Bungkus is cheap, simple and tasty. 10 years ago these would probably cost RM 0.60 to RM 0.70 per packet. Today it costs at least RM 1.20 for one packet.

Nasi Lemak Bungkus can be found in different places, in fact I'm not sure which one sells the best. Just in case you have no idea what this is, it's a mini packet of Nasi Lemak which has the basic ingredients, rice, ikan bilis (anchovies), cucumber, egg, nuts and sambal. The portion is usually really small, which is why it's cheap. You may find one packet is to little to fill your stomach, but it's a good snack if you don't feel like eating much. So anyway, you can even make it yourself!! This page shows more pictures and the recipe as well. Maybe I should adapt and try it out too. Except I probably can't get banana leaf over here in UK. I can't be bothered to make it myself because it's quite easy to find it in Malaysia, especially in Mamak stalls. I think it's better than hot and fresh Nasi Lemak!! :P

Dear Malaysians.... Don't you miss home already?
