Chapman's Seafood Bar & Brasserie

Very fresh rock oysters!

I did a quick search on where to eat Oysters in Canterbury and this place popped up. As I was there only for half a day and I was craving for oysters, why not.

Scallops and Bacon.

These really huge pan-seared scallops served with bacon and mashies were on the specials menu. Not sure if they still have it now, but they better do. Can't go wrong with bacon!!

Tamarind Springs

It's not that difficult to get to Tamarind Springs. Google Map is not accurate, so long as you keep going straight pass ISKL and Kelab Darul Ehsan, the restaurant is at the end of the road. Like right at the end you can't really miss it. Right opposite you can see some residential flats. Menara Indah.

Please bring some mosquito repellent, it is a MUST.

Well this place reminds me a lot of Cambodia... They have two sections, one of Thai food one for "others", mixture of Viet, Cambodia and Laotion mostly. They also have another restaurant somewhere downstairs, I believe it's Italian and there's also Malay serving somewhere called Mandi-Mandi.

You can also request for petals on the table for special occasions.

Our view from the restaurant. They have some spa packages, but I'm not too sure how it goes about.

Spot that kitchen!

Some crackers and shots (non-alcoholic) for starters. Just some shots to increase appetite.

Note that the their rice ain't cheap. Portion of Brown Rice is really small (RM12), for one person and Steamed Jasmine Rice is slightly bigger (RM9), enough to feed two. I don't take much rice so the brown rice portion is enough for me.

Mineral Water (RM10)

Kind of ridiculously priced, it's not even some Italian Naturalle or Evian. Just... water. You can also get wine, but 5-star hotel prices, a minimum of RM40 per glass? Good thing I don't normally drink when I have rice dishes, because the wine prices are really exorbitant.

Khmer Stir-Fried Beef with Sesame Sauce (RM60)

Recommended by the staff who took our order. This is sooooo tender! I hope it isn't from the excessive meat tenderiser. But it's so tender and those sesame is strong! Portion is really small though for that price.

Laotian Sour Chicken & Coconut Soup (RM38)

Recommended by the staff, this soup is very similar to Thai style, except it's clear and light. Slightly spicy and strong lime, lemongrass flavours with slices of chicken breasts meat. It's quite huge for one - you can share the portion.

Cambodian Chicken & Banana Flower Salad (RM33)

This is not anywhere near the banana flower salad I've had in Cambodia. I've had a few but only managed to blogged one of it. Generally in Cambodia it's mostly the same - banana blossom salad are mostly raw with dressings, the one that needs to be cooked is the chicken.

For some reason, they cook EVERYTHING together including the banana flower leaves. That, changes the flavours of the leaf. I could not even taste what we call banana flower. On top of that, those fried onions on top of the salad, spoils the entire salad's flavours already.

I had to make a complain because this dish is really, just not authentic, flavours of the banana leaf is not there at all!

The staff, possible manager (I'm not sure), was really nice and explained to us that it could be the lack of banana leaves being used so he replaced another one.

Still it wasn't much of a difference for me. I could not taste the refreshing taste of banana flower. No crunchiness at all, it's all soft because it's all cooked. It should be renamed to stir-fry chicken strips with banana leaves and onions or something. It certainly should not be called Cambodia Chicken & Banana Flower Salad. Do a Google Image search and you'll get what I mean.

There are some dishes recommended by the staff, which is what you should really order. The moment I've picked something which falls out of the recommended list, just not good at all.

Overall, I enjoyed the Indochine food, I was really tempted to order dessert but we couldn't even finish the food we've ordered, well particularly the Banana Flower Salad as it was only pure salty, not refreshing at all. Maybe a party of 4-6 would be nicer as you can order more selections.. Not ordering rice is not possible either because those dishes are salty!

Overall I think this place is really beautiful, but food and price doesn't justify the price. I mean, it's good, just not worth the price. Apart from the generous portion for chicken, there's no nice plating or such to justify the price. A little bit more effort to plate the food would be good. Unfortunately service can be really slow. It took them forever to come to us, we waited for almost 15 minutes before we could order, signalled multiple times... But when they do, they are really nice and friendly.

Boran Thai

That new Thai place in Seapark to get typical Thai street food.

Very simple furnishing with beautiful vintage signboards.

The 4-page menu consists of selected Thai street food picks, the popular ones.

Pork Noodle without these condiments are very plain, like basic MSG soup.

 Thai Iced Tea (RM4.90)

 Basil Pork Rice (RM7.90)

Not bad for that price, it comes with a sunny side!

 Wantan Skin (RM1.50)

 Grilled Pork Neck (RM14.90)

This pork is marinated perfectly, it tastes good even without the sauce!!! I didn't like the sauce actually, I prefer the sauce at Rak Somtam where it's slightly spicy and sour. Well the pork is so tender and nicely marinated, I didn't even need the sauce! I believe they only have limited portions per day so go earlier to avoid disappointment!!

Pork Noodle - Thai Noodle (RM4.90)

Small and one is definitely not enough. But it's ok to just have one because you'll need space for other food too!

Pork Noodle - Mee Hoon (RM4.90)

It's very mild for those of you who loves it that way and it comes in either thai flat noodles or mee hoon only.

Thai Pudding (RM2.90)

Their service is actually quite slow, possibly because it's new. The place wasn't even half full when we were there in the morning. The noodles were the last to arrive, when the preparation time is actually supposed to be a quick one. That's not really the factor that will stop me from coming back if I'm craving for some Thai flavours!!

Happy Hour Oysters at RM8 each

Woah... This has got to be one of my favourite Happy Hour bars now. Oysters for happy hour, why not?! It's only RM8. And it does not stink like some other unfresh oysters.

Stuffed Squid (RM29) - Rice, provolone cheese, rum & squid ink sauce

This squid rice is slightly salty and boy that black ink is just one of a kind..

Wagyu Bone Marrow (RM29) - Capers pesto, bordelaise sauce & grilled bread

Not many places in KL serves bone marrow, and Bait serves it!! This unique beefy marrow is mushy soft and it melts! Makes real good appetiser! I'm still fairly new to this wonderful item.. I shall have more of it next time..

Bait's Dessert Platter (RM60++)

This platter is not in the menu, but you can ask them for it. Greedy girls like us cannot be bothered to have it individually. Just give us that plate!!!

I believe this is a combination of their desserts; you can have these separately. The Loggy's Noir Du Blanc, which is the gelato and honeycomb. There's also the Pandan & Coconut Panna Cotta. I don't recall having the Coffee Creme Brûlée but I vaguely remembered I had that but it's not part of the photos, so I must be hallucinating then. And the last one is the Raspberry Sorbet with fruits and white chocolate ganache. I did a quick search, EatDrinkKL's version is slightly different. It looks like they serve depending on availability.

Andronis Luxury Suites Spa

Here's what to you expect if you're planning a simple wedding at Santorini.. or particularly Andronis Luxury Suites Spa.

You'll definitely have a view.

Beautifully prepared by Andronis

The dining area is at the other side of the hotel

Some finger food for dinner

I wish I had better photos but I don't. These salmon rolls are so delicious!

The beauty of finger food is you don't really need to sit and put all your focus on getting your food into the mouth.

All we need is a pop in the mouth and we can then mingle around :-)

Santorini is more beautiful during the day as you can see the blue-ish and white colours all over as compared to the night view.
