Milky Bee

Soft serve ice cream is the current hype.. This cup of soft fluffy ice cream is just available anywhere, especially in Korea. There are so many shops in Myeongdong that offers it so I've decided to just walk into any. This is way better that Softsrv in Uptown... So soft and milky! That honeycomb is a bomb! Adds so much flavour to the plain milky ice cream!

There are just so many shops in Myeongdong, just pick any one of it. They tasted a lot better with the heat trapped in my head!

Estilo

There are not many Spanish restaurants in town and it is really difficult to find one which is up to par.

The only item I find it good for the night. Soft and fluffy inside, crispy outside. Just nice.

Broccoli just because we need greens.

Service was ultimately slow, so slow I could watch the entire Avengers movie and still have not gotten anything (bill, food, water, anything).

The black ink seafood paella is bland. It is so bland the seafood is just for decoration. The rice was also slight under cooked. Not sure if it's supposed to be like that but I've had many of such it shouldn't be that sort of texture. Omg it is really so bad I couldn't make myself finish it.

The creme catalana is horrible. It is SO overcooked!! What made it worst, the waiter only brought us spoons about 5-10 minutes later. We signalled for about 3 times before it actually came!

Look at the texture of the cream... The entire dish is just hard and cold. It is just so bad, so not worth the money at all. I prefer the version at Ohla Tapas.

We were all furious with the whole situation, from the bad quality food to slow and almost non-existent service. Though, I have to say that their social media team's response on Instagram was quick as lightning. They could have used it on their service instead. I really appreciate the kind response by their social media team, but no way I am going back. I'm really not keen to spend the sort of money for below average quality food with horrible service. Did I even mention that I gave up the 15 minutes wait after signalling for the bill and went straight to the counter to have it settled instead. Of course, nobody is stopping you if you insist. Just don't get the ones above except for the croquetas. Try other items in the menu which might be a surprise. However, I really don't see myself going back anytime soon.

Bangoya Japanese BBQ

I found this place via Google; I'm a fan of grilled food!

I like their garden-like concept. Their cute Jap decors made me feel as though I'm in Japan, minus the crazy heat and humidity.

The concept looks really good, a pot for the both of us with charcoal in it. The problem with sitting outdoor is the unpredictable wind. The wind was really strong that evening, blew outwards to the meat and it became tad bit blackish.

Variety of meat - pork, beef, chicken, seafood.

Grilled pork belly skewers prepared by the chef.

Come to think of it I prefer the yakitori prepared by the chef.

As you may already notice my piece of meat is slightly black from the coal. :(

I don't think I'd want to have the BBQ again because of the obvious, probably just the yakitori prepared by the chef.

There is a staircase located right next to Kissaten, the way up to Bangoya. In case you're wondering the relationship, Bangoya is by Kissaten.

Soong Kee's Beef Noodles

I bet you've seen this famous Soong Kee noodles in some random foodcourt. Decided to pay a visit to the original shop and it was a complete letdown. Noodles were not properly done (you know it's slightly raw when it's not really cooked), too much oil, and boy, those bitter veggie. Urgh. No more next time. The beef balls were rather normal, like the ones you can get in the market. I mean, what is there to shout about? I'd rather go for Ngau Kee Beef Noodles. I'm actually disappointed because I thought the original shop would maintain some sort of standards. In fact, I wasn't the only one who felt the same way. Shouldn't they consider increasing their QC or train their staffs before serving to customers?! Though, if you're after something quick, this would do justice. Food were all served in less than 5 minutes even before the drinks arrived.

RGB & The Bean Hive

A friend recommended this place on Instagram by posting really beautiful pictures of it!! It's located on a really quiet street, Jalan Damai, with no signboards at all.

The little playroom with cute Brit-themed decors.

RGB offers a variety of dishes for vegans; they do not serve meat at all so forget it meat lovers! But even if you are a meat lover, please give this place a shot. You will not regret!

They also have a selection of cakes for tea if you're feeling sweet tooth.

Look at the rye bread by the side? It looks plain and normal but it's heavenly! You know how people would usually avoid these slices. This is light and crusty, it is so rare to find such quality within the Malaysian market! This is one hidden gem!

The eggplant pesto pasta did not look appetising, but oh boy, trust me, the one who hardly ever eats pasta, loved this one. She said it looks dry (even put on a face!), plain, but when she had the first bite she just couldn't stop praising it!

Same goes to the aglio olio! Since then I've realised Angel Hair is my preference compared to the regular spaghetti or even fettuccine. I'm actually amazed, there's no meat in any of it and yet we managed to finish everything! (I'm quite a meat person to begin with). The aglio olio is a tad bit spicy so do not order if you're allergic to chilli!

Chong Ko Hakka Noodle

Typical hakka noodles... Nothing to shout about. This could be my everyday lunch pick but I don't think I'll go back if I'm not in that area..

Also to note, I don't think their sides were prepared from scratch.

If you're really after Hakka Noodles then this is not a bad idea afterall. The sides... Don't bother paying for costly outsourced items. Other than that the noodle reasonably priced, you can get lunch settled with just less than RM10.

Zaini Satay

Woah. I never knew this Satay place existed... It's at the mamak row right next to the famous Ampang Ramli burger, near ISKL... The meat comes in chunky pieces. Marinated with their special sauce, which is tad bit sweet. The meat is reallyyyy juicy with a slight touch of smoky grilled flavour!

Now you know where to grab your dose of satay in Ampang when you're really craving for it... Too lazy to drive all the way to Kajang! Be prepared to queue for a table though!

Home Sweet Home

Pulled pork pile up with sweet potato fries and salad

Chicken wings with hot sauce

Decided to pay a visit to this little independent cafe in Manchester that serves American food. They do serve cakes too, and it looks really good from their display rack! I would have gotten a slice if I wasn't too filled up that time. They do serve beer and cocktail too, which I don't think I would fancy it for brunch. Not too bad place, wasn't particularly impressed with the pulled pork but the wings, oh boy, so crispy that definitely came straight out from the kitchen! Service was rather slow, but don't get me wrong. The staffs were really nice and friendly but just slightly slow. I would definitely come back for quick bites if I do live in Manchester!

P/S: I have to admit the name sounds catchy and that was partially the reason to pick this place for lunch!

Jin Ok Hwa Original Chicken 진옥화할매원조닭한마리

This so-called famous place is extremely overrated!

They are famous for their chicken dish.

What annoyed me was that they did not allow us to add noodles until we are midway through. Apparently it will "affect" their food quality. WHAT???

It is my choice however I want to eat it! I've tried their method previously and I don't find it anything special and I wanted to do it my way. Sadly, they refused to serve us the noodles till when they think it should be served. Also, it is a one-time order. They will not add anymore.

SERIOUSLY?  It is just chicken soup with MSG (and SO MUCH of it too)! I don't quite fancy it. Kimchi and water can be refilled; you've just got to do it yourself. The kimchi is awful beyond words, even pre-packed kimchi from the supermarket rack tasted way better. What fermentation cabbage, it is barely even fermented at all. If it wasn't for chopped garlic, this entire dish is plain bland. I really cannot comprehend the hype over this boring pot of chicken soup.

My Elephant

Green Aroma. I've ordered because it looks pretty. I'm so easily tempted by beautiful things! I have to say it is good though... refreshing!

Tom yum soup and rice from their set menu. If I'm not wrong it is only about RM12-13 for one set. It is pretty reasonable! I've requested extra spicy on that and they accommodated to my request! So spicy I could barely feel my tongue. Not sure if it's spicy or I'm useless.

Green curry beef - a very generous portion for two.

Tod mun plaaa. Must order in any Thai restaurants!

Paku pakis.

Overall I really like the food, all of it! The flavours and spices, especially coriander and lemongrass. Some restaurants can be really stingy, it is all these herbs that spices up the flavours of the dishes... The only downside for me is that they do not serve pork. I am craving for some of those Thai grilled pork.. On a brighter side, Muslim patrons do not have to worry - it is pork free! There are a few outlets around Klang Valley so you might want to do a quick search for the nearest branch.
