Cai Ji Steam Fish 财记蒸鱼头

Cai Ji is famous for their Fish Head dishes. The Spicy Chinese Bean Paste Fish Head is my personal favourite. Topped with deep fried pork lard and spring onions.

For those of you who loves just normal clear fish head you can go for the Steamed Fish Head with Ginger and Deep Fried Onions. The chilli in the picture is "just for show", it's not spicy at all.

Claypot Pork Belly with Salted Fish.

One of my favourite dish in general, as it goes really well with rice!

The Sweet and Sour Pork is perfectly done too. Freshly fried so it's still slightly crispy outside. Yummers!

Petai with Brinjal and Minced Pork

I also love their Signature Deep Fried Tofu, which comes with crushed coriander so some people may dislike it. The Braised Chicken with Bitter Gourd is also a very popular dish. Though, because it's bitter gourd, it is a well acquired taste by many. There are also different version of fish head dishes which I've not tried. The Deep Fried Whole Fish is very good too - especially if you can't do it yourself at home. Price of the dish goes by weight of the fish.

So far, their dishes have never disappointed me. The only thing you'll have to bear with is their service. The lady who owns the place is generally OK but when the place is busy she just goes into her own world. Staffs are mostly foreign workers and they bear a very angry face for some reason, whether or not the place is full. Well, can't expect much when the food is really cheap. Just take note that it's normal, as in their angry faces. Despite the bad service, this place is always full during lunch hours! Be there before 12pm, or else it will be a long wait...
