WhupWhup

A very unexpected location to begin with.. Left, right, up, down, all factories. It is right end the end of the road (says Google Map!). I hesitated for a bit when I was driving towards the cafe, trying to spot where exactly as I don't feel there will be a cafe here in this area.

P/S: Just head towards the end of the road, and if you're lucky you'll get a parking space inside.

I like how they space out the tables, it does not feel like I'm all crammed up. Some cafes can't really help it because they have limited space. It feels much more comfortable - chances of being eavesdropped is lower!

The man behind this place is Liang, as you can see all dressed with large "W" apron. If you get a chance to take a closer look at the "W", you'll be amazed at the details. (At least for someone like me who can't sew as good!)

This was really a factory to begin with, previously a yarn yard owned by his uncle. He converted it into a pretty cafe. Some of you may wonder if it's the scene in Ip Man, the upper deck does look like the scene where Mike Tyson and Ip Man fought....

There are some cute items for sale at the back of the cafe, some pretty little art, accessories, sunnies and whatnot.

Reservations are out of norm, they have specially reserved cards with person's name written on it for those who made their reservation. Don't you feel that personal touch? :)

 Signature Cuban Beef Sandwich

One of a kind, it reminded me of Pastrami from Katz... I mean the size not the taste. Meat is really tender, bread is lightly toasted so it's crispy on the outer layer, soft and fluffy inside. I've got no clue what exactly Cuban sandwich tastes like, whether it is authentic or not it is still good!! Not something you can finish by yourself if you have small appetite.

 Duck 3 Ways

This has got to be my favourite for the day. it is something rather special. 3 Ways - Salted duck egg to coat the fettuccine (the thickness would keep those yolk on!), mixed with duck bacon and finally topping it with succulent duck breasts. It looks dry, but don't be fooled by the looks of it. The yolk coating itself is just wonderful.

Lamb Shank served with Ratatouille and Potatoes

The lamb shank is slow cooked to perfection. It drops of the bone I can assure you! It does not have the gamey smelly lamb taste you think, it's just perfect. Paired with the ever wonder French ratatouille (not some silly rat....)

 Mohawk Salmon

Look at that salmon skin... It's the "mohawk" of the salmon. Crispy piece of skip stuck on that piece of wonderfully pan fried salmon. The outer layer of the salmon is crispy and the inner part is just juicy and tender. Right below is the pineapple salsa and mashies. I've always had avocado salsa with salmon but this is the first time trying pineapple. It worked out pretty well!

Some of the special drinks which are off the menu. Just ask and you'll get it :)

Special thanks to Liang for hosting and KetchUp's team for organising the run.
