Phở Hiền since 1985

We noticed this shop on the way to Chinatown and decided to just stop by to try. I have a gut feeling that this may not turn out good. It turns out that my gut feeling was completely wrong.

Their pho are all reasonably priced with different sizes for people with different level of food intake. In fact, it's cheaper than some of the mainstream pho shops in HCMC.

Very clean tables and chairs. Unlike Pho Le, this place is much cleaner and there is no rubbish all over the floor.

Phở Bò Viên

Pho with Mixed Meat (Sliced beef, beef balls, flank, brisket, soft tendon, tripe, spine marrow)

Pho Tai

We were skeptical whether it's good or not, so we decided to go for only 3 bowls. As opposed to my gut feeling, these were actually so good! Possibly my favourite Pho shop compared to the rest!

So good we decided to come back the next day.

I can't remember which one was this - possible the fatty brisket. So fat I didn't want to eat it at all!! But I figured that it's only one piece so it's fine.... It turns out that the fats are not soft and wobbly, it's tough and chewy - it's like chewing on hard jelly. I can't believe I'm saying this but it's the fatty part which makes it so good!!!

Close up snap of the authentic Vietnamese noodles.

Boy and those little chopped chillis can make you fly. Remember to ask for extra fish sauce. I would totally recommend Pho Hien since 1985 for a good and healthy bowl of pho - it's less oily compared to the other shops I've been to. What's important is the cleanliness too!!
