Choong Kee Kampar Claypot Rice

The popular Claypot Chicken Rice in Damansara Jaya. It can be really busy at peak hours and that the auntie who manages this place is absurd. She gets agitated so easily and she just scolds her staffs as if they are not humans. The most irritating thing throughout the night was to endure her scoldings that came with all the flowery words. To her staffs. Even though it has nothing to do with me but still? Honestly, even if your food is good I wouldn't even want to go back. I don't want to contribute money to this auntie who has no respect for people in general.

Also, their rice is not particularly cheap either. Two big pot of rice with additional chinese sausage and meat, two plates of vegetables and 2 (or was it 3...?) bowls of double boiled soup came up to about RM110 for the four of us. that's almost RM30 per pax.

To be fair, Pudu's 168 claypot chicken rice is much nicer (not because the auntie is very fierce, it has nothing to do with her). Pudu's rice is much more fragrant and more evenly cooked, and it didn't have so much burnt bits at the bottom. Choong Kee's version is slightly "wet" and yet burnt at the bottom. Another plus point, our bill at Pudu came to only about RM30 for two pax! So, why should I pay more to endure the OK but not superb food plus one angry auntie who has zero respect for people. So nope, won't return.
