Oribe 織部

We went there in June 2016, this menu is currently the latest pricing for their meals. We ordered the Iga and the Oribe. The Oribe costs RM350 at night so it is probably the best deal for lunch.

The beautiful 8 pieces sushi platter. I could barely understand my server's accent, she could barely speak English. The obvious on this plate is the Otoro / Tuna Belly Sushi, Botan Ebi / Shrimp Sushi, Hotate / Scallop Sushi. The rest are I could not understand her, probably Hamachi, Mackerel and I really don't know.

Those rolls? It certainly didn't look or taste appetising. It felt as though they used leftover bits of tuna here and there. Felt a little cheated actually.

Roll Sushi came with a tiny bowl of high cholesterol rice!! In that wonderful bowl, you'll find Uni, Ebi, Otoro and Ikura. HEAVENLY.

Miso Soup

Here's the summary of Iga Set. If you're here for lunch it's probably enough. Men should probably pick the Oribe Set instead.

Let's move on to the Oribe Set.

Beautiful sashimi cuts

2 Side Dishes

Steamed Fish Head

This dish was so bad - the scales were not cleaned properly. It was so bad that all of us sent the dish back. Some had scales stuck in between their teeth! Goodness. Guess we need to leave the steaming job to the Chinese.

They replaced with something much more Japanese. A different dish, no scales definitely.

Miso Soup

Sushi 5 Pieces

That piece of sushi in between Ikura and Hotate, is apparently called Flounder Fish. That's what the waitress said, I hope she didn't revert the wrong info. But anyway the fish MELTS in the mouth!! It is so damn good you won't feel it's a fish!

More fish.

The wonderful high cholesterol bowl.

Japanese Melon for dessert.

A summary of the Oribe Set.

Menu for you to decide your meal. I would love to try their Omakase the next time!

Parking is free. Make your reservation early, bar is very much recommended. I was absolutely irritated because their waitresses never actually checked if we need anything else or if our food was OK. Also, I've noticed their waitresses are not very well-versed with what they are serving. Unfortunately we were there in group of 5 so we can't reserve the bar. Apparently the sushi chef, Ori-san explains everything if you're by the bar. I shall do that next time.
