Restoran Nyonya Makko

This little Nyonya restaurant is located at Melakaraya area. We went pretty late, about 2pm-ish and yet the queue is still long! Nevertheless, the wait was not that long. We observed that the dishes come within 10 minutes after sitting down, so most of the dishes may have already been prepared way earlier.

Otak-Otak (RM10)

It was alright, but not the best.

Sambal Udang Petai (RM24)

Belacan looks spicy but it's not spicy at all. Portion is pretty huge despite being the smallest.

Paku Pakis with Belacan (RM10)

Fantastic, but tad bit oily. Paku pakis is one of the unique vegetables and always go well with Belacan. Don't be fooled by the chilli, it's not spicy.

Itik Tim Soup (12)

Duck and vegetable soup. The only word to describe this soup is salty.

Extra belacan is a must to go with all the yummy dishes! Sadly this it not spicy at all, it's sweet and little sour from the lime.

A bowl of white rice does for RM1.50 each. It's a must, having Nyonya with no rice is like eating hot dog with no bun.

It would have been nicer if there is a little bit of chilli taste.... I'm not sure if this is authentic Nyonya. Also, accept their patience. They can be really busy so it's normal to see grumpy faces. Luckily the lady who served us was really nice!
