Banh Cuon Hai Nam

This little shop is located next to  White Lion Hotel - Google told us that there are two places and we confirmed with the hotel before going to save us from going two places in that traffic.

It's a very small shop with limited tables, and people order pretty much the same thing.

Banh Cuon (VND34k / USD1.50)

Steamed rice rolls with shrimp and meat. This reminds me of TeoChew kuih - just different way of preparing the meat stuffed in the rice rolls. Topped with some of those spicy chilli - beware!

Crab Spring Rolls with Vermicelli (VND145k/USD6.40)

I first had it back in the UK when a friend brought food to uni - like literally containers of spring rolls and vermicelli for 6 pax. Ever since then I fell in love with it but never actually had the chance to have it again. Here in Banh Cuon Hai Nam, Crab Spring Rolls seems like a must-order. The portion is pretty huge - one roll is as long as your iPhone4. We ordered one portion to share between 4, and together with some Banh Cuon, it kept us full till late afternoon!
