Segambut Yong Tow Foo

Segambut/Jalan Ipoh Yong Tau Foo located just near the Segambut roundabout, and very popular among locals. They serve pork-free Yong Tau Foo, one of those places that welcomes Muslim patrons.

There's an order list with the usual items to order - my favourite/must-haves would be the eggplant, fishball, fried dumplings and fried fu chuk. They score fairly great for a pork-free place. As for their dumplings - the fillings isn't as sweet and crunchy as compared to the famous Ampang YTF.

They also have a bakery section selling local Chinese buns. Meat buns, kaya pastry, egg tarts, and people would normally buy after lunch for tea!! It comes out fresh from the oven with really high turnover, so those buns you're getting are definitely freshly baked!

Tip #1: Carpool, or hail Uber/Grab. Parking is absolutely ridiculous, it's very limited.
Tip #2: Avoid asking the angry Mainland Chinese lady to take your order - she scolded us when we asked her to clear the plates from the previous customer and threw the menu down with a loud bang when she returned. Since then, we would always avoid contact with her and signal anyone else. They are all generally very nice, very much nicer than her so don't be ticked off by their service - we know she's the main contributor to bad service.
