Tor Road Steak Aoyama ステーキアオヤマ

Sashimi / Meat Salad for Kobe Beef Set.

The cream soup where they boast that they have not changed the recipe since they first served it decades ago. Very light and smooth cream soup - being a soup person I wish I could have more of it!

Chef doing this job.

We tried both Kobe and Wagyu to see if there is a difference.

This funny chef wouldn't stop trying his luck - 41 years old and single. That's what he wanted us to advertise. Well, on a bright side, you'll get perfectly cooked beef for your candlelight dinners!

I thought the beef cuts were not attractive to me.

The red meat looks tad bit dry.

Kobe Set Lunch (¥5100)

This looks rather dry, but it was actually super juicy. I actually requested for medium rare, both of them. This was already leaning towards medium. Nevertheless, it's still alright.

Wagyu Lunch Set (¥3000)

I think the Wagyu did not score that high. It has a little gamey aftertaste, as compared to the Kobe. It wasn't as juicy too. Also, the meat was a little overcooked - it was already at Medium when he served it. I guess it's pointless to ask how well I want it then.

We can opt to have rice with miso soup, the traditional Japanese way.

....or the lightly buttered and fluffy toast.

Ponzu sauce with radish and Himalayan sea salt to go with your beef.

Tea or coffee will be served after meal.

I think the sets are value for money, but certainly not the best Kobe experience. I've read plenty of sites to ensure my decision was right, but I guess I was wrong this time. It's alright if you just want an affordable meal though. Service is very friendly, and fortunately, they speak English!

Likes: Friendly staffs, affordable lunch sets, personal touch with the chef.
Dislikes: A little overcooked beef.
