Oriental Pavilion

Chinese New Year dinners at Oriental Pavilion is fairly reasonable. They taste a lot better under high turnover rate... We went back again for the same menu on a separate occasion, about a month after CNY and surprising the freshness of the seafood wasn't as good.

Bird's Nest & Crab Meat Bisque

Smoked Farm Chicken

One of the popular item they serve and every one who loves Chinese food will tell me how they love this chicken. It's quite amazing how it is perfectly smoked and yet still tender and succulent!

Ying Yang Pomfret

This was rather disappointment off-CNY times (fish was a little unfresh)

Poached Live Tiger Prawns with "Shao Hsing" Wine & Wolfberry

Same goes to the prawn. I wonder if those are leftovers, as the fish was unfresh and prawns were just much smaller. However, to be fair to them, I've visited a few weddings in this restaurant and they are able to manage the quality even with such big group.

Braised Abalone with Dried Scallop, Prosperity Bag & Lingzhi Mushroom

Braised Ee-Fu Noodle with Lobster Meat

Likes: Good Chinese food, even when it's served in large scale events
Dislikes: No proper QC after CNY where the restaurants starts to be less busy during off peak times.
