Suzie Wong

This speakeasy bar at Wisma Lim Foo Yong was the talk of the town when they first launched. The first thing that came into my mind was the dodge Suzy Wong at Phuket's Bangla Road.

I'm not even sure if they are related, but it does not appear to look like they are. This place is definitely classier than Bangla Road...

We decided to swing by for happy hour drinks.. which turns out to be alright. It was my first time to this building and parking is not friendly at all.

The entrance to this bar is at the back and we were told that there are girls in Cheongsam standing by the hallway to lead you once it gets darker. It was drizzling for a bit when we arrived and got a bit wet from it. I didn't think the entrance was impressive, don't think anybody likes a dodgy entrance that's not properly protected if it rains.

We had the Happy Hour drinks priced at about RM29. They were pretty and innovative, and A+ for effort. But don't expect these cocktails to be strong, the Coconut cocktail wasn't amazing.

I like how the present their cocktails. This bitter one came with a bit of dry ices and the wonderful smoke effect makes it look really grand.

The coaster came with llights at the bottom, makes it look really classy!

This was my favourite of all. I thought it was just another fancy drink and that chilli won't  be that spicy but I was completely wrong. It really is chilli padi and it was quite spicy for a cocktail!

The cocktails are great for their happy hour price... But to charge between RM45-60 per glass for this, I didn't think it was worth the money.

Some comments I've received over conversations; people find it rather creepy that girls are wearing traditional Chinese clothes, and really skimpy ones that looks like lingerie, there is a strict dress code even for ladies.

Likes: Fancy, rather classy, alright cocktails (which was worth it for HH price)
Dislikes: At most I would pay for their cocktails is between RM40-RM45. Don't think I would visit if it's non happy hour. Inconsistent information published on social media, social media handler distributing wrong info via FB chat.

*P/S: Their opening hours are really confusing. I asked them on Facebook and they told me they open at 4pm. When I was at the actual place, they said it's 6pm. To be safe... be there at 6pm instead.
