Regency Chinese Restaurant

Dandan Noodle Sichuan Style (£7.80)

We only had about half a day in York as we arrived late evening and had to depart the next morning. There are quite limited choices in York, so we chose this restaurant to have dinner.

Green Beans with Minced Meat (£8)

There's an Asian supermarket attached in the unit, presumably the same owner.

Cabbage with Sliced Pork (£8-10?)

Their dishes are very typical Sichuan China taste - chilli oil, chilli powder is common. This is not Cantonese style, just in case you dislike that Sichuan peppery "ma lat" taste, you should just dine elsewhere.

Whole Roast Duck (£28)

Even their duck has the Sichuan pepper taste!! I'm a bit confused though, the duck actually tasted like Cantonese style which I prefer without the pepper.

Hot & Spicy Poached Fish (£13.80)

Everything in this restaurant is all about chili and pepper, which is really normal. They serve close-to-home Chinese food which we are alright with it. Do pop by for authentic Chinese Sichuan food!

Likes: Comfort Sichuan food, reasonably priced
Dislikes: Quite slow service - one person handling the entire shop.
