Barrafina

Arrived at 6pm, queued for about 45 minutes for 2 seats. Barrafina is a One Star Michelin in London - I've passed by this restaurant for the longest time and have finally decided to try...

Cold Meat Platter (£15.50)

Cold cuts to start off... Favourite Spanish delights!

Ham Croquetas (£5.50)

I could have a few of this - crispy balls, inner batter that melts (no idea what it's made of, milk? butter? cheese? but there's definitely ham inside!). This is really very addictive.

Carabinero (£18.80)

This prawn is so expensive - but it's a huge one and a very juicy one!

Octopus with Capers (£12.50)

Can't help showing my love for every dish - the polipo was made perfectly nice, not too cooked otherwise it would be rubbery/chewy.

Arroz Negre (£16.80)

I am in love! Their rice is cooked with seafood broth and it's just so fragrant. I did not even need the squid - it was already very flavourful on its own.

Asparagus & Romesco Sauce (£8.80)

Well, expect some fat asparagus since it's the season for it.

Crema Catalana (£6.50)

I thought the custard was perfect and not too sweet. We ignored the layer of sugar on top and had mostly the custard.

Bar seat concept and just be prepared to queue for up to an hour-ish.

Seasonal items off the regular menu

Verdict? No wonder it's worth a star. The hour queue was totally worth it - I would definitely recommend Barrafina for Spanish in London!

Likes: Authentic Spanish food
Dislikes: Probably nothing - perhaps the number of seats, but then again, if more seats would probably drag the quality down
