Little PP Hometel / Blue Sheep Cafe

This is possibly my only right decision I've made for Samui trip. Instead of flying directly to Koh Samui, I've decided to take the cheaper option. The options are

  1. Fly directly to Koh Samui  with Bangkok Airways and pay around RM1300 return per pax
  2. Fly to Surat Thani with Air Asia for around RM400 return per pax, 1.5-2 hours bus transfer to jetty and another hour to Koh Samui by ferry. The bus and ferry ticket transfer costs around THB600 per pax. Total damage estimate - RM500 +- per pax. As I've read online, Lomprayah is indeed the most popular choice so we did not get the tickets for that. It is true that you need to book online for Lomprayah as it is really impossible to get it at the airport. We opted for the second option, which is SeaTran. One fare and you're all settled. It includes bus transfer to jetty, drop off & pick up at hotel at Koh Samui, drop off & SeaTran office in Surat Thani, pick up at hotel from Surat Thani back to the airport. But you have to arrange the pick up, don't forget to inform your concierge a day before. This option is cheap but totally wasted our time. We only arrived at Koh Samui around 7pm. Most of our time were spent waiting for people...

    Check here for ferry options.

If I knew it was so much hassle I would have flew directly. We decided to put a night in Surat Thani anyway, and found this quaint budget hotel. The lobby is a cafe itself, looks like I'm in a different country.

We were greeted with a glass of cold drink. Our room only costs around RM100? Very reasonable...

It's simple, clean, has all amenities, and the perfect room for a one night stay. Please take note that there is no elevator in this building. I would gladly recommend this place - apart from the satisfaction of the place, the staffs are also very nice. There is one guy who could speak English so it was so much easier to communicate.
