The Fat Fish

Some old pictures of Fat Fish. I've dined here a couple of times and found their seafood to be fresh. Not so much of the salad you see in this picture though. Crab meat salad for RM18.50. Very small portion (it looks big but it's not enough for one pax). The crab meat is different from the usual pre-packed sticks, but it's so minced that I can't even tell if it's fresh?

Dai Dai Roll (RM28) - bits of salmon covered with negi instead of ebikko. Not so much value for money?

I can't remember which pasta I've ordered, duck or crabmeat if I'm not wrong? It's really small portion, good for ladies and it costs at least RM25 per plate of pasta...

This was added on to the original order as the previous pasta was good for only 1 pax. I thought for that kind of price I would have gotten better pastas at La Risata which is more authentic and the portion double of what they serve here.

This platter costs about RM100? I can't really remember now... They might have already changed the prices too anyway.

This was previously RM18, but it went up to RM20 on my last visit which was a couple of months back.

Spicy Salmon Temaki (RM8)

Seasoal Oysters - they start from around RM10 each?

You can takeaway some of these too. However, please note that the prices have already changed. I'm sure they would have revised their prices by now.

Some other frozen food available for purchase.

We ordered Chuka Lidako and Chuka Wakame. It came straight out from the fridge next to us and it was pre-packed. Actually, same goes to the rest of the fish we have ordered. Not really made to order huh?

I wasn't the only one who thinks the same, I did a quick search on their prices and VKeong also complained about their value. For that price, I would definitely head to Sushiya for better quality, ambience and service. After dining a few times, I don't think I'll return again. Glad they have expanded now to cater to more people... But...

Check out Top Catch for better value takeaways.

Likes: Seafood we had were fresh, if you're looking for fresh and not much for value this place isn't too bad
Dislikes: Food not exactly made to order, don't understand the hype for this place, this feels like a fish market cafe than a proper dining restaurant but charging restaurant prices or in fact more expensive than many other restaurants? Service wasn't particularly memorable, not great value for money
