Char Siew Yoong 叉烧杨家家来

The place every Char Siew lover would recommend... They started off as a small booth in Pudu and moved to a shop by itself when they became popular.

These chunks of meat attracts people from all over the place - be it weekday or weekend, it's very packed. You need to do the Asian-thing to get a table (stand right next to a table where they are almost done!). Yes, or else forget it you won't get a table.

Apart from char siew, they also serve nyonya fish. Don't see how it's related but it seems like there is one on every table. I thought it was just normal.

Siew Yuk - Skin is quite crispy, some parts of it are too crispy which I call it hard.

The famous Char Siew (BBQ Pork)... It was nicely barbecued, I thought of it to be more barbecued / grilled.. But it wasn't the melt in the mouth kind for me... It wasn't grilled enough for me either. Perhaps this is the standard benchmark for char siew but I didn't find it to be something that is worth the trouble to queue...

Nevertheless, nice glazing though.

They also serve soup but it varies daily.

Likes: Everybody's favourite char siew, good local Chinese eats
Dislikes: Dirty, long wait, hard to get a table, not really cheap, parking is almost impossible to find but there is a paid parking within walking distance
