Secret Penang Cafe 乡味槟城美食馆

Loh Bak Set (RM13)

The set comes with deep-fried conventional seafood tofu, prawn cracker, meat roll, century egg, cucumber and ginger slices.

Hokkien Prawn Mee (RM7.50)

The broth is quite nice, it tasted like the ones I've had in Penang, only thing is that they lack of meat, just a huge bowl of noodles and that's it.

Asam Laksa (RM7.50)

This was the only inedible dish for the night. The broth wasn't flavourful, practically nothing in it besides noodles and a decoration mint leaf. I thought they could work better on more cucumbers, pineapple, onion and fish.

They added additional fish, but it tasted too fishy and made it even worse. It was inedible after the additional crushed fish.

Fried Kuey Teow - RM8.50 with Chicken Egg, RM9.50 with Duck Egg

You can't really tell the difference of the egg from pictures, but thier CKT was alright. It has the"wok hei" and it was quite fragrant. Reasonable amount of meat and vegetables for the noodle portion. If I had to order something I would pick the CKT over other dishes.

Likes: Quick, basic food, inexpensive considering that it's a cafe, good Char Kueh Teow. Great for those who just wants to have something quick
Dislikes: Not everything is good - particularly the Asam Laksa
