Bob Bob Ricard

I came for the champagne... Seriously. It's a silly gimmick that we will fall for it. It's nothing but just a button, simply just like any in-flight button. Press it and your champagne will not arrive. A staff will attend to you first as there are a few different types for you to choose.

Nevertheless, it's one interesting concept. They were fully booked on Christmas Day and thankfully we got ourselves a table.

Lobster, Crab & Shrimp Pelmeni (£15.50)

I was looking forward for the pelmeni, the one I had at St Pete was a lot more traditional. These dumplings arrived cold, like it had been left at the counter for a long time before serving.

Baked Oysters Brezhnev (£14 for 3)

The Russian style oysters... Somewhat raw inside, topped with melting cheese and a slice of truffle. It's so good!!! I never thought I would love baked oysters; it's supposed to be baked but the oysters are still slightly raw which is totally fine. It just made me wonder how did it stay raw?!

Jersey Rock Oysters (£22 for 3)

Just rocks, I thought it wasn't as impressive as the baked version.

Steak Tartare Imperial (£22.50)

Raw beef served with caviar. I had the starter portion as main, it was just nice for me. Anything more than that would be too much. You won't even feel like it's raw, so refreshing and it's a must to have the imperial version as the saltiness of the caviar blends in..

Roast Norwegian Cod (£22.50)

Cod is always a safe choice....

Vanilla Creme Brulee (£11.50)

Eton Mess (£9.50)

I came for the Eton Mess...

Waited and waited for the top to break apart... BUT IT DID NOT!!!!!!!!!

How disappointing... Looks like not everyone's Eton Mess will break so beautifully.. I had to use my fork to push it :(

Thanks for the wonderful birthday cake! It was a pleasure spending Christmas / Birthday at BBR.

Likes: Great casual place for dinner... Pleasant food, some hits and misses but generally hits. Try their Russian selections (all except the Pelmeni)
Dislikes: The service could be improved, those with coats are somewhat arrogant, fierce and was just not courteous. Could also improve on their reservations, you don't quite get your table on time...
