Claude Bosi at Bibendum

I booked this place without realising they have been awarded with 2 stars by the Michelin... I think I was attracted by the article that shows their duck jelly. What on earth is duck jelly?!

I had to book for lunch since they ran out of seats for dinner. Lunch started at 12pm and lasted till sunset, can you believe it. Very classy and comfortable interior, a very small place that can cater about 15 tables?

Amuse bouche. Some parmesan cheese ballsl it's so addictive I could snack on it all day!

Butter & the Michelin.

Amuse bouche part 2 - Mushroom duxelle with coconut foam served in an eggshell and garnished with curry powder.

The mushroom can be found right at the bottom.

The Duck Jelly I've been waiting for.... £39 for this tiny little portion.

It has a combination of savoury and sweet - sweetness from the jelly with poultry flavours and of course it blends with the caviar. Sweet and salty? No problem.

We had the lunch wine package - 3 courses and half bottle of wine for £55 per pax which is a pretty good deal!

Starter - Artichoke Barigoule

Western style Yong Tau Foo!! Artichoke topped with fish and stuffed with foie gras right in the middle! This is just too pretty to be eaten...

Starter - Cornish Mussels

I thought this dish was just very normal.. Just mussels.

Main Course - Lunch Carvery: Venison.

Carved right in front of us and it's served with cheese gratin.

Main Course - Cornish Cod - Tom Kha Gai style

I thought this looks pretty ugly, the fish is no where to be seen because it's covered with tom kha gai sauce. The piece of cod is fresh, but the overall is a disappointment as it tried to be modern with Thai food but I did not think it was amazing. I'd rather have proper Thai if I wanted Tom Kha Gai and not on a pretentious plate.

Cheese Selections

Ice Cream Trolly

It doesn't end right here.... Petit Fours after dessert.

Now you know why lunch is till sunset?? Winter sunset, I mean.

Likes: Good food, impeccable service, lunch course is a steal
Dislikes: Rather cold environment, I thought
